I sometimes wish I were a more intelligent person.

Not just booksmarts - although I'd love to get some of them back, for sure - just to be more aware of things and with more knowledge of how to handle issues. I'unno.

Maybe it's just the rite of the season, but I've been rather remarkably unbalanced of late; I can admit it well enough - "I don't like how I've been feeling" - but it's the matter of 'fixing' it that escapes me completely. It's all the same, and I want to make it change - but I'm just not sure of where to start.

Haha, I dunno; I'm kinda just talking out of my ass at this point, anyway. Better to just bide time and see how things look in the spring, eh?

Anyway. Yes. In a completely unrelated topic: I would love to know the age at which one is supposed to lose the desire to play around with pudding/custard mix before serving it.

Because it seems that 26 is not it.

Note to self: don't forget to pick up actual milk the next time you want to make custard. If you keep making it with fat-free milk, you may as well just use water and enjoy your vaguely-custardy soup instead. >V

edit: Thank goodness for small almost-pint containers of whole milk. You can't always justify buying a full quart-ish thing of milk just for one damned pot of Bird's.

Still couldn't resist the urge to poke at the pre-cooked mix, though.

But, one can hardly be blamed for having a little fun with the properties of non-Newtonian fluids, right? ♥ I mean- science!

Ah~

+ let's start with late December, and catching up with British panel show 'QI', having been introduced to it through TVTropes, of all things.

So, basically... it's a quiz show where panelists and host alike constantly cycle through sounding moderately intelligent and sounding wildly inappropriate without so much as missing a beat?

Oh yes, please.

The useless information is amazing to learn, as well! My god, how I love useless information. I cannot think of a single, solitary reason why I ought to know that the ozone layer apparently smells of geraniums, and yet...

+ follow up with general curiosity, leading to checking out legal semi-drama 'Kingdom'; or, at least, as much of it is up on hulu thanks to awkward and burdening licensing issues keeping video releases in a state of utter chaos.

It's the most laid-back legal "drama" I've ever seen, and I loved it to pieces for that very reason. The lack of gratuitous murders helps, since that's typically all you see in fictional American crime and court shows, and it does get a bit stale after a while.

edit: hup, nevermind; found that mystical, magical yerterb account with the full three seasons.

yesssss ♥

+ fond memories lead to rewatching little scattered snips of ABOFAL.

And discovering a whole new level in having a love/hate sort of relationship with terrible puns.

fatal floor oh my godddd

+ ... f-followed closely by the discovery that, oh hey, a sale was being run on the Jeeves and Wooster box set.

Although in this case, I must admit... it's more a huge desire to see Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster that excited me so much about that particular purchase. I can't even imagine it, save that it sounds like it's just going to be every kind of amazing, you know?

Although seeing the both of 'em in some of the glorious stories from Wodehouse's books ought to be a wonderful treat in general. Especially since it looks like 'Code of the Woosters' was snuck in there (as two episodes?) and fuck yeah cow creamer stealing. I cannot wait to see that creamer, as well; I know what I imagine it to look like, but man, to actually see it--

(also, plz to have Bartholomew the 'vicious' little Scottie dog, okay)

+ with all of that in mind, one of the local public television stations decided to surprise the fuck out of me with... well.

ttp://www.njn.net/television/highlights/10january/stephenfryamerica.html

It's a lovely - albeit terrifying - coincidence, I'd say.

...

Honestly, I cannot possibly think of any better ways to have spent my free time this past month. There's just nothing that can compare.

edit 01.19:: wh- what

Tonight's Bones rerun #2 = "The Girl in the Gator" = oh hullo Gordon Wyatt

Really?

If I weren't using this man as a much, much needed distraction, I might be a little flustered by all of this.

g-god save the queen

It's hilarious how, among the two sets of Tales-related "Prop Plus Petit" figures they produced, there are no less than five different Lukes -- three in the Abyss set (long-hair, short-hair, towel) and two in the 'series' set (both short-haired, the Mieu is the only difference).

Comparitively, in the 'series' set, there is but one Leon variant, and no Judas.

Something seems a little... Not Right about all of this.

Has to be noted, however, that the Kratos is pretty much the cutest thing in the world. So I guess maybe that makes up for it. Kinda.
